Former Oyo YPP Governorship Candidate, Daughter of Reverend Idowu Animasawun (Apola King), SBA, Joins APM

IBADAN, OYO STATE — Former governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2023 Oyo State governorship election, Mrs. Euba Aduragbemi Animasawun, popularly known as SBA, has officially joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Mrs Euba Aduragbemi Animasawun popularly known as SBA formally joined the party on Monday, September 29, 2026, in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, where she was warmly received by party leaders, stakeholders and members amid enthusiasm.

She was welcomed by the Ona Ara APM leadership, led by Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, alongside Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo, Local Government Chairman Hon. Kolapo Temitope Glorious, and other party leaders and stakeholders in the local government.

The party leadership expressed enthusiasm over her decision to join the APM, describing her as an experienced political figure, entrepreneur and community minded individual whose presence would add value to the party and contribute to its growth in Ona Ara and beyond.

Animasawun is not new to politics in Oyo State. In 2023, she contested the Oyo State governorship election on the platform of the Young Progressives Party, making history as the only female governorship candidate in the election. She had earlier emerged as the YPP governorship candidate after winning the party’s governorship primary in 2022.

Beyond politics, SBA is an accomplished entrepreneur, philanthropist, mentor and socio-political leader with interests spanning travel and tourism, real estate, fashion, youth development, education and sports.

She is the Chief Executive Officer of Voyage Signatures travels and tours Limited, Signatures Grandview Homes & Properties, and Signatures by Adura Fashion House. Through her various ventures, she has built businesses across travel services, real estate and fashion.

She is also the founder of the Signatures Support Foundation for young people and SBA Football Academy, initiatives focused on humanitarian intervention, education, youth empowerment, mentorship and sports development.

According to her official biography, Animasawun has been involved in initiatives supporting young people, women and vulnerable members of society. Through the Signatures Support Foundation, she has facilitated school, hospital and community outreaches, while the SBA Football Academy provides young people with football training, mentorship and character development.

Her educational background includes International Relations from Lead City University, Public Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University, and a Diploma in Fashion Business and Styling from the London College of Fashion.

Animasawun is the daughter of Reverend Idowu Animasawun, popularly known as Apola King, the veteran Juju musician, and the late Deborah Animasawun. Her family has strong roots in Badeku Village, Ward 3, Ona Ara Local Government Area, where her community connection remains significant.

Her decision to join the APM has attracted considerable interest among party stakeholders in Ona Ara, who see her political experience, entrepreneurial background and community-oriented initiatives as valuable additions to the party.

The Ona Ara APM leadership welcomed her into the party and expressed its readiness to work with her as the party continues to strengthen its structure and expand its presence across the local government.

For SBA, her entry into the Allied Peoples Movement represents a new chapter in her political journey, bringing her experience as a former governorship candidate, entrepreneur and advocate for youth and community development into a new political platform.
