SEUN FAKOREDE AND WHY THE YOUTH ARE FOLLOWING ODIDIOMO – Omoluabi Ojewola Olawale

When the Odidiomo Campaign Organisation announced Seun Fakorede as Director, Youth Mobilisation, many in Oyo State understood the message.

This is not a campaign that wants to just talk about youth. This is a campaign that wants to mobilise youth, organise youth and win with youth.

Seun Fakorede is a Nigerian public policy strategist and governance practitioner focused on youth participation, leadership development and democratic inclusion in youth majority societies.

He currently serves as Executive Adviser on Youth and Sports to the Governor of Oyo State, where he contributes to policy development and strategic initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for young people and strengthening youth engagement in governance.

From 2019 to 2023, he served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, becoming one of the youngest cabinet members in Nigeria’s contemporary political landscape. During his tenure, he led initiatives that advanced youth empowerment, sports development and leadership opportunities across the state.

That is the experience he brings to Odidiomo.

Beyond public office, Fakorede is the Founder of Home Advantage Africa, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to youth empowerment, civic engagement and social development across African communities.

His work intersects with global conversations on democratic governance and youth leadership. He is a member of the Network of Young Decision Makers of Club de Madrid and was recognised by One Young World as Politician of the Year in 2022. He is also a recipient of the Future Africa Prize for Governance.

Through public service, advocacy and thought leadership, Fakorede continues to champion youth empowerment, responsible governance and sustainable development across Africa. His emerging work explores how democratic systems can adapt to the realities of youth majority societies, particularly across the African continent.

Outside public service, he maintains a keen interest in leadership development, public policy, global affairs and Africa’s evolving role in the international system.

Now he is bringing all of that to the Odidiomo Campaign.

Ask yourself why. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo is not a first time aspirant. He is Chairman, House Committee on Federal Character, former Chairman House Committee on ICT, with verifiable projects in Ibadan North West and South West, schools, roads, transformers, boreholes, empowerment for widows and youth, and bills that have national outlook.

Youth want a leader who has done it before and can do it again. Seun Fakorede knows what quality representation looks like because he served in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde that gave Oyo State a new standard of governance.

As Director, Youth Mobilisation, his assignment is clear. To take Odidiomo’s message of accountability, quality representation and accessible leadership to every ward, every campus, every football field and every community where young people gather across nine local government areas that made up of Oyo South Senatorial District and across Oyo State.

And to rally youth for the full APM family, Governor Seyi Makinde for President, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi for Governor, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo for Senate and other APM candidates.

With Seun Fakorede leading youth mobilisation, the youth are not just going to vote. The youth are going to organise and secure victory for Odidiomo.

Because when you have a leader who understands youth and a candidate who has delivered for youth, victory is not a hope. It is a plan.
