Abiola Abdulrazaq Akinloye, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Ibadan North-East Constituency 02, with the rehabilitation of the Oje Market borehole described as another intervention aimed at improving access to water within the community.

The latest rehabilitation adds to an earlier water intervention credited to Akinloye at Abibemori Compound, Agugu, in Ward 9, where a long-abandoned borehole was renovated and restored to service in May 2025. Contemporary reports stated that the facility was repaired after community members drew attention to its condition, with the renovation completed within days.

The Abibemori intervention was undertaken before Akinloye’s current bid for the Oyo State House of Assembly, according to reports from the period. The restored facility was expected to provide residents with a more reliable source of water for household use.

The rehabilitation of the Oje Market borehole therefore represents a continuation of his reported community interventions, with the focus placed on a basic amenity that directly affects traders, residents and other users of the market.
