The Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Seun Oladeji Oluwaseun Richard JP, has met with student leaders from the 10 local government areas that make up Oke-Ogun as part of efforts to strengthen youth mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, organised under the Oke-Ogun Youth Support Movement for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi, brought together student stakeholders, youth coordinators and representatives from Atisbo, Saki East, Saki West, Kajola, Iwajowa, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Oorelope, Olorunsogo and Irepo Local Government Areas.
The engagement focused on promoting unity among students, deepening grassroots political participation and building a strong youth structure for the APM across Oke-Ogun.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Seun Oladeji Richard JP commended the student leaders for their commitment to the development of the region, stressing that the future of Oke-Ogun rests significantly on its vibrant and educated youth population.
He urged the students to take ownership of the political process and become active participants in shaping the future of the zone.
According to him, the movement in support of Bimbo Adekanmbi goes beyond an individual political ambition, describing it as a platform to give Oke-Ogun a stronger voice, promote equity and support a government that will prioritise youth empowerment, quality education, agriculture and infrastructural development.
Hon. Richard reaffirmed the commitment of the Oke-Ogun Youth Support Movement to the victory of Adekanmbi and all APM candidates at the various levels of the 2027 elections.
He described the APM as a credible alternative with people-oriented programmes and a clear blueprint for development, while also highlighting the achievements of the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in infrastructure, healthcare and employment.
He urged the student leaders to return to their various institutions and communities as ambassadors of the movement and engage fellow students, market women, artisans, youth organisations and farmers on the need to support the APM.
Responding, the student leaders expressed their commitment to the movement and pledged to embark on massive sensitisation and mobilisation across their campuses and the 10 local government areas of Oke-Ogun.
They declared their readiness to work for the victory of Bimbo Adekanmbi and all APM candidates in the 2027 general elections.
