Ibarapakan Celebrates Chief Obafemi Ojo at 64, Hails Thoroughbred Politician, Grassroots Veteran

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has extended his warm congratulations and well wishes to the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. (Chief) Obafemi Ademola Ojo, on the occasion of his 64th birthday.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday, September 11, 2026, through his spokesperson, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Hon. Adepoju described Chief Ojo as a consummate politician, accomplished administrator and astute grassroots leader whose years of public service have been defined by institutional experience, political versatility and a sustained commitment to the development of his people.

The federal lawmaker acknowledged the contributions of the former two-term Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central to the political and socioeconomic development of Ibarapa, noting that his various engagements in public office spanning over two decades have consistently provided platforms for him to demonstrate leadership, administrative competence and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

According to the Ibarapa-born technocrat cum politician, Hon. Obafemi Ojo is a dependable thoroughbred politician and administrator whose deep knowledge of grassroots politics is highly unexampled, describing him as a man who has paid his dues through years of service in the executive arm of government.

“Chief Obafemi Ojo has paid his dues, from his various tenures as Caretaker Chairman to his successful two-term tenure as Executive Chairman, his emergence as Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State; his service as Deputy Chief of Staff in Oyo State and his subsequent appointments as Commissioner, where he has served under key portfolios, including Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, as well as Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives.”

The federal lawmaker also praised the efforts and support of the Babaloja-General of Ibarapa Land in the cabinet of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, commending the celebrant for his wisdom and efforts, which have also contributed to the stability of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the Ibarapa region of Oyo State.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character urged the celebrant to continue mentoring the younger generation, noting that his political wisdom and experience would help prepare them for future opportunities in public service and leadership.

The lawmaker, however, wished Hon. Ojo many more years of impactful service, political wisdom and continued contributions to the development of Ibarapa and Oyo State.
