The Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), in collaboration with Lead City University, Ibadan, is set to host its 20th International Conference and General Assembly from October 5 to 9, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The conference, themed “Security Governance and Global Dynamics,” is expected to bring together scholars, peace and security practitioners, policymakers, development partners, researchers, and students from different parts of the world to deliberate on emerging issues shaping security governance, peacebuilding, international relations, and global development.

According to the organisers, participants are expected to arrive on October 5, 2026, ahead of the official opening ceremony scheduled for October 6.

The main conference sessions, research presentations, and academic engagements will take place on October 7 and 8, while other activities associated with the conference and General Assembly will continue through October 9.

The international conference will provide a platform for intellectual exchange, presentation of research findings, policy dialogue, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders working in the fields of peace studies, security, governance, and development.

Interested scholars and participants have been invited to submit abstracts addressing relevant issues aligned with the conference theme.

The deadline for abstract submission was September 1, 2026, while full paper submissions are expected by September 20, 2026.

Conference registration fees are pegged at ₦30,000 ($20) for SPSP members and ₦40,000 ($26) for non-members.

For enquiries and RSVP, interested participants may contact:

Dr. Tsuwa: +234 806 044 2948

Further information on the conference sub-themes, registration procedures, paper submission, and participation guidelines is contained in the official conference flyer.

The organisers said the conference is expected to deepen dialogue, strengthen knowledge-sharing, and promote collaboration among academics, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders as security challenges continue to evolve at national, regional, and global levels.
