The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government has felicitated Muslim faithful in the area and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, calling on residents to embrace the values of peace, tolerance and mutual respect exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chairman described the celebration as a reminder of the Prophet’s life of compassion, justice, humility and service to humanity. He noted that these teachings remain relevant to communities in Lagelu and should guide interactions among residents of all faiths.
“This sacred day reminds us of the exemplary life, teachings, and character of the holy Prophet – a life of compassion, justice, humility, peace, and service to humanity. His message of unity, tolerance, and good neighbourliness continues to guide millions across the world and remains deeply relevant to our communities in Lagelu today,” the Chairman said.
He urged both Muslims and non-Muslims in the local government to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of love and peaceful coexistence, adding that the spirit of Mawlid should inspire greater charity, understanding and commitment to community progress.
