In a significant political development from the South South region, a coalition of youth representatives from Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, and Rivers States gathered yesterday at the Vinpy Hotel in Uyo to formally declare their support for the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
The youth movement officially endorsed His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, as their choice for President, alongside his running mate, Alhaji Lawal Daura, as Vice Presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement gathering served as a dynamic platform for various aspirants seeking elective offices under the APM platform to present their visions, outline their developmental agendas, and engage directly with key political stakeholders from across the Niger Delta region.
A major highlight of the event was a formal motion moved by the South South youth coalition, issuing a special request to Engr. Seyi Makinde to flag off his official 2027 presidential campaign in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
