The Lagelu Local Government Traditional Council has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Oloye Lekan Alabi, the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, who served as Acting Chairman of the council before his passing.
In a statement issued by the Vice Chairman of the Lagelu Traditional Council, HRH Oba Basiru Adesina, the Elejioku of Ejioku, the council conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Senior Chief.
Oba Adesina described the late Oloye Alabi as a highly valued leader of the traditional institution in Lagelu, noting that his role as Acting Chairman underscored the high regard in which he was held by traditional rulers in the area.
The council also announced that the 8th-day Fidau prayers for the late Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi, will hold on Sunday, 9th August 2026, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, from 12noon prompt.

The traditional rulers urged members of the public and well-wishers to join the family in prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed Ibadan Senior Chief.
