Residents of Elebu community in Ibadan have appealed to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to fulfill his promise of completing the Elebu and BCJ road projects before the end of his administration, describing the projects as vital to the economic growth and development of the community.

Governor Makinde made the commitment about six months ago, on January 13, during a Thanksgiving Service at Rehoboth Cathedral, Oluyole Estate, Ibadan. At the event, he assured residents that the Elebu and BCJ road projects would be completed before the expiration of his tenure and called on the church to continue praying for sustainable growth and development across Oyo State.

Reacting to the governor’s assurance, residents said the roads have remained in poor condition for years and stressed that their completion is long overdue. They noted that improved road infrastructure would enhance commercial activities, reduce transportation challenges, increase property values, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

The residents added that delivering the projects within the promised timeframe would further strengthen public confidence in the Makinde administration and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy through increased productivity and easier movement of people and goods.

The community also made a heartfelt appeal to the governor:

“Your Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, we, the people of Elebu, respectfully appeal to you to remember your promise to our community. We remain hopeful that the Elebu and BCJ road projects will be completed as pledged. Fulfilling this commitment will bring lasting relief to thousands of residents, improve businesses, and stand as another testament to your administration’s commitment to infrastructure development across Oyo State.”
