*Makinde’s Loyal Political Structure Demands Fairness, Insists on Binding MoU Before Fresh Mobilisation*

One of the most influential grassroots political support groups in Oyo State, The GSMists, has sent a powerful message to the political establishment, demanding greater recognition for loyal members while declaring that future political mobilisation for Omituntun 3.0 must be anchored on a clear and binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The declaration came on Saturday during a Special Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the Oyo State Gym Building, Ori-Oke Mokola, Ibadan, where delegates from all 33 local government areas gathered under the theme, “The GSMists Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”

In what observers described as a defining moment for the movement, members reflected on years of unwavering commitment to the political journey of Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, recalling their roles from the birth of the Omituntun movement through the successes of Omituntun 1.0 and Omituntun 2.0.

While reaffirming their confidence in Governor Makinde’s leadership, delegates openly expressed disappointment over what they described as the continued neglect and inadequate recognition of many faithful GSMists who have devoted their time, resources and political influence to the success of the administration.

The stakeholders maintained that countless members had remained loyal through every political season without demanding immediate rewards, insisting that such dedication deserves meaningful recognition and inclusion in future political arrangements.

In a major resolution, the gathering unanimously endorsed the emergence of Omituntun 3.0 under the leadership of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi but declared that the movement would only embark on another round of massive grassroots mobilisation after reaching a mutually agreed Memorandum of Understanding with relevant stakeholders.

According to the delegates, the proposed agreement should clearly define expectations, recognise members’ sacrifices and establish a transparent, fair and inclusive framework that guarantees respect for the contributions of loyal party faithful.

The meeting also delivered a unanimous vote of confidence in the GSMists’ State Coordinator, Yinka Tella, and the State Executive Council, applauding the leadership for preserving unity, discipline and organisational stability despite political pressures and internal challenges.

Participants reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to the Allied People’s Movement (APM), pledging continued support for strengthening the party’s structures and advancing democratic governance across Oyo State.

As the meeting ended, the atmosphere was marked by renewed solidarity and determination, with delegates insisting that the future of the movement must be built on justice, equity and mutual respect.
