Across Nigeria, millions of children, widows, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable families continue to face barriers to quality education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and social inclusion. While these challenges are significant, they are not insurmountable. At Akor Sughnen Fidelis Foundation, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, hope, and purpose. Our mission is to provide practical support that empowers people, strengthens communities, and ensures that care reaches those who need it before crisis does.

As a community-focused non-profit organization, we are committed to creating lasting impact through programmes that address both immediate needs and long-term development. Rather than offering temporary relief alone, we invest in sustainable solutions that help individuals and families become more resilient and self-reliant.

Our work is organised into six key mission fields, each responding to a critical community need. Through Orphanage Support, we provide educational materials, welfare assistance, and consistent care for children without parental support. Our Education for the Less Privileged programme helps children remain in school by providing learning materials, mentorship, and educational support, ensuring that financial hardship does not become a barrier to achieving their dreams.

Recognising the unique challenges faced by widows, our Widows Empowerment initiative offers vocational training, livelihood support, and cooperative opportunities that restore confidence and promote financial independence. Through our Health Care Service Delivery programme, we organise community health outreaches, provide basic health screenings, deliver preventive health education, and connect individuals to appropriate healthcare services. We also champion Voice for the Voiceless, advocating for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities and those whose voices are often overlooked. In addition, our Digital Skill Training programme equips young people with practical digital and employability skills, preparing them for opportunities in today’s rapidly evolving economy.

The impact of these initiatives is already visible in the communities we serve. To date, we have conducted over 500 community health checks, trained more than 150 young people in digital skills, and supported over 40 widow households through sustainable empowerment initiatives. Beyond these numbers are real stories of children returning to school, widows rebuilding their livelihoods, young people discovering new career opportunities, and families gaining access to essential healthcare services.

We believe that sustainable development is only possible when communities work together. Every donation, volunteer effort, partnership, and act of advocacy contributes to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. Whether supporting a child’s education, funding a health outreach, empowering a widow, or providing digital training for unemployed youth, every contribution becomes an investment in a stronger and more inclusive Nigeria.

At Akor Sughnen Fidelis Foundation, compassion is more than a value—it is the foundation of everything we do. We remain committed to building communities where every child can learn, every family can access quality healthcare, every widow can thrive with dignity, every vulnerable person is heard, and every young person has the opportunity to succeed.
