The Oyo State APC Woman Leader, Dr. Adekemi Opatunde, has commended Senator Fatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, for his sustained commitment to the empowerment of women and young people through impactful initiatives that continue to improve livelihoods across the district.

In a press statement, Dr. Opatunde described the senator’s empowerment programmes as a testament to purposeful leadership, noting that his consistent investments in entrepreneurship development have created opportunities for self-reliance, financial independence, and economic growth for thousands of constituents.

She expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries, particularly the women, for the latest intervention, which provided practical skills training and financial support to participants.

“I heartily commend the purposeful leadership and consistent commitment of Senator Buhari Abdulfatai to the empowerment of women and young people. This remarkable gesture has continued to bring hope and opportunities to families across Oyo North,” she stated.

The commendation followed the successful completion of a three-day Agripreneurship Training Programme, during which 150 women and youths drawn from the 13 Local Government Areas of Oyo North were trained and empowered.

The programme, organised in collaboration with the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) and coordinated by Hayes Multisystem Investment Limited, was held from July 1 to July 3, 2026, at IPMAN Hall, Isale Taba, Saki, Oyo State.

Participants received intensive training in agribusiness development, product packaging and branding, financial record-keeping, market linkage, and strategies for sustaining small-scale enterprises.

Addressing the participants, Senator Fatai Buhari urged the beneficiaries to maximise the knowledge acquired and the financial support provided to establish and grow viable agribusinesses capable of contributing meaningfully to the agricultural economy of Oyo North.

He also appealed for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing the importance of collective prayers and hard work in ensuring the success of government programmes aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Taofeek Owoseni and the team from Hayes Multisystem Investment Limited, who delivered practical sessions on SME development, financial management, and sustainable agribusiness practices.

According to the senator, the initiative is designed to produce at least 150 new micro-enterprises, strengthen existing businesses, and create indirect employment opportunities across Oyo North Senatorial District.

At the conclusion of the programme, all 150 participants received Certificates of Participation issued by the National Board for Technology Incubation, alongside ₦100,000 start-up grants each to establish or expand their agribusiness ventures.

Dr. Opatunde prayed for greater success for Senator Buhari, expressing confidence that his continued dedication to people-centred representation would further transform lives and strengthen communities across Oyo North.
