The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has officially unveiled Hon. Muftau Open Salawu of Ogbomoso as its Deputy Governorship Candidate for the forthcoming 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

The unveiling ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, attracting party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the state.

The event marked a significant milestone in the growing alliance between the APM and the PDP, as both parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the ceremony, party leaders described the choice of Hon. Salawu as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the alliance’s political structure and expanding its support base across Oyo State, particularly in Ogbomoso and the Oke-Ogun zones.

They expressed confidence in Salawu’s leadership qualities, political experience, and commitment to grassroots development, noting that his emergence would further enhance the coalition’s chances in the upcoming governorship contest.

The APM/PDP alliance has continued to generate discussions within the state’s political landscape, with observers viewing the partnership as a major realignment ahead of the 2027 elections.

Hon. Salawu, while accepting the nomination, appreciated the leadership of both parties for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work tirelessly with the governorship candidate and party stakeholders to deliver good governance and development to the people of Oyo State.
