The Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan North East Constituency II, Hon. Akinloye Abdulrazaq Abiola, has congratulated Muslims in Ibadan North East Constituency II, Oyo State, and across Nigeria on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year, Hon. Akinloye described the Hijrah as a significant period of spiritual reflection, renewal of faith, and commitment to the values of peace, sacrifice, perseverance, and service to humanity.
He noted that the Islamic New Year, which begins with the month of Muharram, offers Muslims and all citizens an opportunity to reflect on the lessons of the migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and embrace the virtues of unity, tolerance, compassion, and righteous living. The year 1448 AH began with the commencement of Muharram on June 16, 2026, according to widely observed Hijri calendar calculations.
The APM flagbearer urged residents of Ibadan North East Constituency II to remain steadfast in promoting peaceful coexistence and supporting initiatives that foster community development and socio-economic progress.

According to him, “The occasion of Hijrah reminds us that meaningful change requires courage, dedication, and collective responsibility. As we enter the year 1448AH, I encourage our people to continue praying for our constituency, Oyo State, and Nigeria, while remaining committed to the values that unite us as one people.”
Hon. Akinloye further prayed for Allah’s guidance, protection, and abundant blessings upon all Muslim faithful and the entire people of Oyo State throughout the new Islamic year.
He reaffirmed his commitment to responsive representation, grassroots development, youth empowerment, and policies that will improve the welfare of the people of Ibadan North East Constituency II.
The APM candidate wished all Muslims a peaceful, prosperous, and spiritually rewarding Hijrah 1448AH celebration.
