The Interim National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, has extended his warm congratulations to the Muslim ummah on the celebration of the new Islamic calendar year, Hijrah 1448AH.
In a statement released on Monday through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim, Ambassador Arapaja emphasized the spiritual significance of the occasion.
He urged Muslims across Oyo State and the entire country to use the new Islamic year as a period of deep reflection and spiritual renewal.
The PDP chieftain specifically called on the Muslim faithful to offer fervent prayers for Nigeria, highlighting the urgent need for divine intervention in navigating the country’s current challenges.

He noted that the occasion of Hijrah should serve as a reminder of the values of patience, perseverance, and devotion, which are essential for national growth.
”I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to use this holy season to pray extensively for the peace, unity, and stability of our dear nation,” Arapaja stated.
The governorship hopeful also used the opportunity to make a strong appeal to the residents of Oyo State to remain steadfast and rally behind the PDP as the party prepares for the upcoming general elections.
According to him, “a united front is crucial to achieving the desired progress, good governance, and development for the state.”
While wishing the entire Islamic community a peaceful and rewarding Hijrah 1448AH, Arapaja reiterated his commitment to fostering inclusive leadership and harmonious coexistence among all groups in the state.
