A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former two-term Oyo State lawmaker, Hon. (Elder) Adegboyega Mathew Abioye, has congratulated Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli on clinching the party’s gubernatorial ticket in the recently concluded primary election.

In a statement he personally released and made available to journalists celebrating this year’s Eid-il-Adha, the former representative of Ogo Oluwa/Surulere State Constituency extended warm felicitations to Senator Alli and the entire people of Oyo State joining Muslims worldwide in the holy festivities.
Hon. Abioye used the occasion to make a passionate appeal for party cohesion ahead of the next general elections.

“I enjoin all fellow APC members across Oyo State to come together, bury differences, and embrace peace. Absolute unity is our only path to emerging victorious in the 2027 general elections,” Abioye stated.

Amidst the festive celebrations, the APC stalwart expressed deep empathy regarding the security situation in the state. He sympathized with the families of the pupils and teachers recently abducted in Orire Local Government Area, praying for their immediate and unharmed release.

He urged the Muslim faithful to use the sacred period of Ileya to offer intense prayers for the safe return of the victims and to petition Almighty Allah for a definitive end to the myriad of security challenges currently confronting Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
