“You Deserve Dignity”, BGI Celebrates IBSWLG Workers

As workers across the globe mark International Workers’ Day, Honourable Babatunde George, popularly known as _BGI_, has joined in celebrating the Nigerian workforce, calling for renewed commitment to workers’ welfare and dignity of labour.

In his May Day message released on Thursday, Hon. George paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifice of workers across all sectors, noting that their contributions remain vital to national growth.

“May this May 1st bring you recognition, rest, and renewed strength for the journey ahead,” he said in his goodwill message to workers.

Hon. George emphasized the need for improved working conditions nationwide. “Here’s to fair wages, safer workplaces, and the dignity that every worker deserves,” he stated.

He commended civil servants, artisans, teachers, health professionals, drivers, traders, and private sector employees for their role in sustaining the economy despite prevailing challenges.

According to him, no nation can achieve meaningful development without a motivated and protected workforce. He urged government, employers, and labour leaders to continue engaging on policies that guarantee job security, prompt remuneration, and workplace safety.

Hon. George wished all workers a peaceful celebration and encouraged them to remain hopeful and committed to service.

“Your labour is not in vain. Nigeria works because you work,” he added.
