Hon. Olajide Akintunde, popularly known as AKT and the lawmaker representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has been unanimously picked for a third term bid following the successful conduct of a primary consensus meeting by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagelu Local Government.

The decision was reached after a strategic stakeholders’ meeting involving party leaders, elders, and key political figures across the local government, who resolved to adopt Hon. Akintunde as the consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.
The endorsement, according to party sources, is in line with the directive and political guidance of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, aimed at strengthening party unity, rewarding performance, and ensuring continuity in effective representation.

Leaders at the meeting commended Hon. Akintunde for his outstanding legislative contributions, commitment to grassroots development, and unwavering loyalty to the party and the people of Lagelu State Constituency.


They noted that his impressive track record in the areas of constituency empowerment, infrastructure advocacy, youth engagement, and support for Governor Makinde’s developmental agenda made him the natural choice for another term in office.

Those in attendance includes; Ex-Comm. Taliat Oribayo Okeyode; Pa Kehinde Fabunmi, Evang. Ayobami gold; Lagelu PDP Chairman, Femi Falowo; Alh. Wulemotu Ibitoye; Agbaakin Benedict Akika; Lagelu council chairman, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen; Hon.

Adetokunbo Abideen Adeaga; Chief Babatunde Tijani Double T; Hon. Obideji; Iya Aduke Okewusi.
Speaking after the consensus decision, party leaders expressed confidence that AKT remains the best candidate to continue representing the interests of Lagelu people at the state assembly, stressing that his re-emergence would further consolidate the gains already recorded in the constituency.
The leaders also reaffirmed their total support for Governor Makinde’s leadership and vision for the party, describing the consensus arrangement as a demonstration of discipline, unity, and collective commitment to victory in the next election cycle.

Hon. Akintunde, in his response, appreciated the leadership of the party and the confidence reposed in him, promising to remain steadfast in delivering quality representation and advancing the welfare of his constituents.
