In a significant demonstration of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers and the promotion of grassroots peace and stability, the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Kolapo Temitope GLORIOUS, on Monday presented official cars to crowned Obas across the Local Government.

The presentation ceremony, held at the Ona Ara Local Government Secretariat, Akanran, has been widely described as a landmark intervention aimed at strengthening the traditional institution and enhancing the mobility and operational effectiveness of royal fathers in Ona Ara.
Speaking at the event, Dr. GLORIOUS said the initiative was inspired by the leadership example of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose administration has consistently prioritised the welfare, dignity, and relevance of traditional rulers within the governance structure of Oyo State.

He noted that the gesture was in recognition of the indispensable role monarchs continue to play in sustaining peace, resolving communal disputes, fostering unity, and advancing development at the grassroots.

According to the Chairman, the official cars are not mere gifts, but practical support tools designed to enhance the capacity of royal fathers in the discharge of their traditional and community responsibilities.

Dr. GLORIOUS described the presentation as “a symbol of dignity, honour, and respect” for the traditional institution and disclosed that ten official cars have been approved for distribution, with six currently ready and delivered, while the remaining beneficiaries will receive theirs in due course.

The first batch of beneficiaries includes the Representative of the Olubadan and Chairman of the Ona Ara Traditional Council, Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Kamarudeen Adebowale, Oniladuntan of Laduntan; Oba Nureni Yusuf, Alajia of Ajia; Oba Mudasiru Obisesan, Alararomi of Araromi; Oba Muftau Mosaderin, Ololosunde of Olosunde; and Oba Obisesan, Alakanran of Akanran.
The Chairman also revealed that a modern Traditional Council Hall constructed by his administration has been fully completed and will be officially commissioned on April 21, 2027, to provide a befitting and conducive environment for the activities of royal fathers in the Local Government.
In their separate remarks, the President of Ona Ara Development Forum (ODF), Alhaji Kola Bolomope, and the Vice Chairman of the Ona Ara Traditional Council, Oba Kamarudeen Adebowale, commended the Executive Chairman for fulfilling his promise and taking practical steps to strengthen the traditional institution. They noted that the cars would significantly improve the efficiency, mobility, and community engagement of the royal fathers.
Other dignitaries present at the event included the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Mujidat Adewumi; Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja Romoke Akande; Director of Finance, Mr. Akinloye; as well as supervisory councillors, special assistants, and other top government officials.

The event further underscores the NEW ERA administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, institutional support, and sustained grassroots development in Ona Ara Local Government.
