When Loyalty Goes Unrewarded: A Test of Conscience for Party

These days, the reward system in politics is becoming frustrating.

The man whose photo is displayed here, Mogaji Dr. Stephen Akin Fagbemi, has been on the political beat of Ibadan N/West and S/ West Federal Constituency since ages past.

Many years before the Coalition that heralded the coming of His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde the Executive Governor of Oyo state in 2019.

After the poor show of the present moribund PDP in Oyo state, the 2015-17 circa, PDP ran into comatose. Party staffs at the Molete Secretariat were owed more than six months salary arrears.

The National Electric Power Authority NEPA dropped a humongous bill. Since the party couldn’t pay, the electrify line was disconnected for many months.

No running cost available: not even an imprest for the State Chairman, Hon. Yinka Taiwo. Everything collapsed.

Then came the Holy Stephen.
He didn’t only vacate the workers arrears, he brought back life into the Oyo state PDP secretariat by ensuring that the electricity line was reconnected.

And his being denied the Constituency ticket has not stopped Fagbemi from paying his dues to the party of his love, PDP.

The slogan of His Excellency has been “catch them young”. But we must not forget that the young are also growing everyday. Fagbemi is growing also.

When WILL the party reward Mogaji Stephen Akin Fagbemi a performer at every office he is appointed, a staunch, generous and loyal Omititun member, be offered the ticket to Ibd N/W & S/W fed const.

Me. think the time is now, now, now.
A valuable party man as Dr Fagbemi must not be abandoned in the murky water of political intrigues. The Omititun group at this fragile and precarious state cannot afford to abandon our best for the whims and caprices of some dealers.

Enough is enough.
