In a spirit of local development and value for traditional institutions, member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commissioned the new ultra-modern palace of the Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, renovated by the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central, Hon. Sola Adeleke, under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

The historic event, which also coincided with the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) on His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu V, the Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, had in attendance traditional rulers and political functionaries from across Oyo State.

Speaking at the event on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Hon. Adepoju commended Hon. Adeleke for honouring the Olu of Igbo-Ora with the edifice, which he described as not only a building but also an architectural identity of the Igbo-Ora heritage.

According to him, the development wouldn’t have been possible without the development drive of his leader and mentor, the architect of a modern and progressive Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, together with the support of his elder brother, Otunba Obafemi Ademola Ojo, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Oyo State.

“We must also take a moment to appreciate all those who contributed to making this dream a reality, our own Governor His excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, my own big brother and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Obafemi Ojo, our able and hard working Local Government Chairman, my own brother Hon Olusola Adeleke, all the builders, the architect, the engineers without forgetting members of the clergy who continually intercede and pray for the success of our community. Our Chief Imams and all our Imams and Alfas. Our party leaders, members and supporters, and indeed every member of the community whose efforts, prayers and resources brought this vision to life. History will remember your contributions,” Ibarapakan remarked.

The federal lawmaker congratulated the Olu of Igbo-Ora and the entire sons and daughters of Igbo-Ora on the commissioning of a state-of-the-art palace, stating that the royal edifice will serve as a home to visitors as well as a settlement for pertinent matters among members of the community, thereby contributing to the traditional, political and socioeconomic development of Igbo-Ora community.

Hon. Adepoju had previously attended the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership Management on the monarch by Foxford University, Canada, where he generously donated to the institution for bestowing the prestigious award on his father.

In attendance were the Olu of Igbo-Ora, the Eleruwa of Eruwa, the Onjo of Okeho, the Okere of Saki, the Onilala of Lanlate, the Alajawa of Ajawa, the Asigangan of Igangan, the Onidere of Idere, the Olu Aso of Iberekodo, the Baba Aso of Iberekodo Igbole, the Onisagaun of Sagaun, the Elempe of Tapa, the Asawo of Ayete, the Onidofin of Idofin, the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Constituency Matters, Hon. Monsuru Oduola, Bishop of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Ibarapa Diocese, Chief Imams and Alfas in the constituency, as well as party leaders such as Chief Kolawole Olanrele (Great Mother), Hon. Olusola Fakorede, Hon. Akinlolu Olugbade, among others.
