The spirit of the holy month of Ramadan was vividly demonstrated yesterday as Muslim faithful, community leaders, and political stakeholders gathered at the residence of Alhaji Akeem Adedibu in Molete, Ibadan, for the annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the Al-Hakeem Adedibu Mosque.

The event, which marked the 17th Special Ramadan Lecture 2026, was held at the back of the PDP Office, Molete, Ibadan, drawing a large crowd of religious scholars, community members, and dignitaries who came together to reflect on the spiritual significance of the holy month.
The lecture, themed “Importance of Ramadan,” focused on the values of faith, patience, charity, and devotion that Muslims are expected to uphold during the sacred month. The program was hosted by the respected Islamic cleric Fadilat Sheikh Muh’ Awwal Mustapha Oriolowo (Nurul Aoliyahi), while the guest lecturer Sheikh Mamun Eleshinmeta delivered a powerful and enlightening sermon that emphasized the spiritual discipline and moral transformation that Ramadan brings to the lives of believers.

Among the prominent personalities present at the event was Hon. Usman Sijuade Adedibu, a leading aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan South West Constituency 2, and son of the chief host of the annual Ramadan lecture, Alhaji Akeem Adedibu. Hon. Usman Sijuade Adedibu joined other distinguished guests in celebrating the spiritual gathering, demonstrating his continued commitment to faith, community unity, and the cultural heritage of Molete and Ibadan at large.

Also present at the event was Chief Mrs. Abosede Adedibu, the PDP South West Women Leader, fondly regarded as a mother figure within the political and community space. Her presence added great significance to the gathering as she continues to play an important role in grassroots mobilization and community development.
Another notable personality at the lecture was Chief Mrs. Risikat Adedibu, alongside several other respected dignitaries from across Ibadan and beyond. The event also witnessed the strong presence of Molete market women, community leaders, and residents who came out in large numbers to participate in the spiritual program.

The atmosphere of the gathering was filled with prayers, spiritual reflection, and a renewed call for unity among the people. The scholars reminded attendees of the importance of patience, generosity, humility, and devotion to Allah during Ramadan and beyond.

The annual Ramadan lecture continues to serve as a significant platform for spiritual enlightenment and community bonding, honoring the legacy of Late Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, whose name remains deeply respected in Ibadan’s political and social history.
As prayers were offered for peace, prosperity, and unity in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole, participants expressed appreciation to the organizers and the Adedibu family for sustaining such an important spiritual tradition that continues to bring people together during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Indeed, the 2026 edition of the Ramadan lecture was not only a moment of religious reflection but also a gathering that strengthened communal ties and reinforced the enduring legacy of faith, leadership, and service within the Adedibu family and the larger Molete community.
