In response to the economic strain caused by escalating fuel prices, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), has distributed free fuel to commercial motorcycle operators (Okada riders) in Ibadan.

The initiative, held at Tesmore filling station on Wednesday, provided relief to hundreds of riders who are vital for grassroots mobility and urban transportation.
It equally attracted several beneficiaries in Lagelu community, including dispatch riders, commercial drivers, and tricycle operators.

During the distribution, Hon. RAD explained that the free fuel initiative, which began years ago, is a personal commitment to giving back to society and is not politically motivated.

She emphasized that the move aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde’s dedication to policies that positively affect citizens, especially those in the informal sector.
Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.

One Okada rider, Segun, praised Hon. RAD, recognizing her as a grassroots-friendly leader.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Azeez, noted the financial relief, stating, “I would have spent about ₦6,500 to buy five litres today. This gesture has saved me money I can now use for something else.”
Others also commended Hon. RAD for her generosity and consistent support of ordinary citizens.
