*Akintayo Assures PDP Members of Makinde’s Loyalty, Donates N3m Ramadan/Lent Support to Party Structure*

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as “O MU YES,” has assured members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, remains a loyal member of the party and has no plan to decamp to any other political platform.

Hon. Akintayo made the clarification during the PDP Ibadan North East Local Government meeting held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Cyprian Primary School, Padre, Ibadan.

Addressing party members and leaders at the meeting, Akintayo said Governor Makinde remains firmly committed to the Peoples Democratic Party and its progressive ideals, urging members not to be distracted by rumours suggesting otherwise.

He emphasized that the governor’s leadership and dedication to the party have continued to strengthen the PDP in Oyo State.

“His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, remains loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party and has no intention of decamping to any other political party. Our members should remain steadfast and continue to support the party and the government,” Akintayo stated.

The council chairman also commended the Local Government Party Executive led by Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun Abuye for their dedication and commitment to sustaining the party’s strength at the grassroots level.

He further appreciated all ward chairmen and their executives for their consistent efforts in mobilizing members and maintaining unity within the party across the wards in Ibadan North East Local Government.

In recognition of their efforts and to support party members during the ongoing religious observances, Hon. Akintayo announced a donation of three million naira (₦3,000,000) as Ramadan and Lent gifts to the party structure in the local government.

According to him, the financial support is aimed at encouraging party leaders and members during the holy seasons being observed by both Muslims and Christians.

He explained that the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦250,000) would be allocated to each ward to support the ward executives and party activities at the grassroots level.

Party leaders and members present at the meeting expressed appreciation to the council chairman for the gesture and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the PDP across the local government.
