Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, a frontline PDP House of Representative Aspirant for Ibadan NorthWest and Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency of Oyo State, has heaped praises on Governor Seyi Makinde for the significant achievements in facilitating direct international flights from Ibadan to London and the commissioning of 540 modern shops and a motor park at the Bodija Market in Ibadan, free of charge for traders. This commendation was made in a statement signed by Mayegun Babanumi to the news men recently.

According to Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, these two laudable projects will enhance commercial development and improve traders’ welfare and provide a safer and more organized trading environment in the mega city of Ibadanland and in Oyo state as a whole. Beside the motive to encourage traders to vacate roadside areas and occupy these modern facilities, these projects will give a social-economic facelift to the city in particular.
Mayegun Babanumi, while thanking God for giving Oyo State a Governor with the focus on human capital and socio-economic development, in the person of His Excellency Gov. Seyi Makinde, considering his notable feats, said “Gov. Seyi Makinde’s initiative is having significant and positive impacts on Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole”.

Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi equally pointed out other laudable projects by the Governor Makinde’s administration which includes:


• Bodija Market Development: 540 modern shops and a commissioned and functional motor park, providing traders with comfortable and secure spaces, free of charge.
This project aims to restore order and improve the trading environment.

Governor Makinde has opened several ultramodern markets, including the Omituntun Ultramodern Market with 406 lockup shops and 56 open stalls, enhancing business operations and security.

• Ongoing road infrastructural projects include the Ibadan-Iseyin road (65km), Iseyin-Ogbomoso road (78km), and the completed Ibadan Airport dual carriageway, aiming to boost economic growth and connectivity.
• Aviation Development: Efforts to expand Ibadan Airport, including runway extension and aviation fuel storage, aim to increase flight frequency and stimulate economic growth, which has culminated in the success of flight from Ibadan to London directly as being witnessed now’.
These initiatives, said Mayegun Babanumi, ‘is demonstrating Governor Makinde’s focus on improving infrastructure, commerce, and residents’ quality of life’.
Of particular mention is the Ibadan Circular Road project, which according to Mayegun Babnumi, is “a major development, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and stimulate economic growth”. The project he believes as expected will open up new development corridors, attracting residential estates, industrial hubs, and commercial investments.
Mayegun Babanumi also made mention of the ‘Soun Stadium’ upgrade and the construction of the Ogbomoso-Saki road that is now enhancing infrastructure growth and connectivity in the area. In Oke Ogun area, Mayegun Babanumi makes reference to the ‘Ebedi Township Stadium’ in Iseyin the remodelling of the Iseyin-Oke Ola Junction road reconstruction, which is improving local amenities and transportation.
The Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Akufo is today supporting agricultural development and creating opportunities for farmers, same as in Eruwa, the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic road upgrade is enhancing access to education and commerce.
The recently commissioned Bus Terminals at Iwo road and Ojoo , he said, has led to the decongestion of the ever presence traffic gridlock around these two important commercial areas of Oyo State.
These projects, claims Mayegun Babanumi, has repeatedly demonstrated Governor Makinde’s focus on improving infrastructure, promoting economic growth, and enhancing residents’ quality of life, which he can replicate if supported to administer at National stage of our political strata, said Mayegun Babanumi.
