In a significant move to reinforce security collaboration at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, today received the Commander of 655 Nigerian Air Force Station, Ibadan, Air Cdre D.U. Njoku, and his team during a high-level familiarization visit to his office.

The visit underscored a shared commitment between the Local Government and the Nigerian Air Force to strengthen the security architecture of Akinyele and its environs, particularly in light of the rapid growth and expanding economic activities within the council area.

Speaking during the meeting, Air Cdre D.U. Njoku commended the Executive Chairman for the visible developmental strides recorded across the Local Government.

He noted that the remarkable transformation taking place in Akinyele has not only enhanced its profile but has also increased the need for a more proactive and coordinated security framework.

The Commander highlighted certain operational challenges facing the Air Force formation and appealed for the support of the Local Government in addressing them. He further outlined practical areas of collaboration, emphasizing intelligence sharing, logistical support, and stronger institutional partnership to safeguard lives and property.

In his response, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye expressed profound appreciation to his principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for creating a sustainable and enabling environment for local governments to thrive.

He attributed the numerous landmark achievements recorded in Akinyele to the massive investments and strategic interventions of the Governor, describing the Local Government as one of the fastest growing in the state and beyond.

According to him, the ongoing developmental projects and infrastructural expansion within the council area are already attracting increased economic activities and population influx, thereby necessitating enhanced security measures.

The Executive Chairman further enumerated several security support mechanisms already put in place by the Local Government, including inter-agency collaboration, community-based security initiatives, and logistics assistance to security operatives. He assured the Commander and his team of the council’s unwavering readiness to deepen collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to sustain peace, stability, and investor confidence within Akinyele Local Government.

In a remarkable display of goodwill and institutional recognition, Air Cdre D.U. Njoku presented an award to the Executive Chairman in acknowledgment of his outstanding developmental strides, particularly in strengthening the security sector.

The meeting was attended by members of the Local Government Management Team, the Commander’s entourage, and other key stakeholders, marking yet another milestone in Akinyele’s journey toward a safer and more prosperous future.
