Dr. Akande Babatunde Kazeem, mni, has extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to Hon. (Engr.) Magaji Da’u Aliyu, Ph.D., mni, FNATE, on his well-deserved appointment as the Managing Director of SHESCTO, describing the development as “a fitting recognition of decades of disciplined service, intellectual depth, and unwavering commitment to national development. He noted that the appointment not only honours Magaji’s personal journey but also reflects the nation’s confidence in seasoned leadership with a proven record of integrity and competence.

In his remarks, Dr. Akande was reported to have highlighted Hon. Magaji’s rare blend of engineering expertise, legislative experience, and strategic management capacity, observing that his career trajectory — spanning corporate leadership, telecommunications, public service, and legislative oversight — uniquely positions him to drive impactful reforms and institutional excellence. He further acknowledged that Magaji’s scholarly achievements, including a doctorate in Sustainable Development and multiple advanced qualifications in management and engineering, underscore a lifelong devotion to knowledge and professional growth .

Dr. Akande also fondly referenced their shared experience at the Senior Executive Course 47, 2025 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (SEC 47, 2025, NIPSS), where both men earned the prestigious mni distinction. He described that period as one marked by rigorous intellectual engagement, patriotic discourse, and the forging of enduring bonds among visionary leaders. According to him, Hon. Magaji consistently distinguished himself during the programme through insightful contributions, disciplined analysis, and a calm yet decisive leadership style that commanded respect among peers.

Speaking further, Dr. Akande was reported to have praised Hon. Magaji’s legislative stewardship, particularly his tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Power, where he demonstrated exceptional oversight, conflict resolution skills, and a relentless pursuit of sustainable solutions within Nigeria’s power sector. He noted that Magaji’s numerous awards, commendations, and professional fellowships are not mere decorations but reflections of tangible impact, ethical conduct, and a career anchored in service to the public good.

Concluding his congratulatory message, Dr. Akande expressed confidence that Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu’s appointment would usher in a new era of innovation, transparency, and strategic growth for SHESCTO. He reportedly described the honour as “not only a personal milestone for a distinguished statesman, engineer, and scholar, but also a collective pride for the SEC 47, 2025 community and the broader NIPSS alumni family, adding that the nation stands to benefit immensely from Magaji’s visionary leadership and enduring commitment to excellence.
