As part of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of Oyo State, the state government is set to host a colourful Youth Day and Mega Carnival designed to spotlight the creativity, culture, and vibrancy of young people across the state.

The event, titled “Oyo @50 “Youth Day & Mega Carnival,” will take place on Saturday, 31st January, at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, with activities commencing at 11:00 am and continuing until late.
The carnival is conceived as a dynamic platform to celebrate Oyo State’s golden jubilee through the lens of the younger generation, blending heritage with contemporary expression.

Participants will be treated to an electrifying lineup of live music and DJ performances, cultural displays, dance battles, as well as fashion, arts, and youth-driven showcases that reflect the state’s rich past and its evolving future.

Organisers describe the event as more than a social gathering, noting that it represents a movement aimed at amplifying the voices, talents, and aspirations of the youth in the ongoing Oyo @ 50 celebrations.
With its blend of colour, street energy, and nonstop entertainment, the Youth Day and Mega Carnival is expected to draw thousands of young people and culture enthusiasts, reinforcing Oyo State’s identity as a hub of history, innovation, and youthful excellence.
