Lagelu Local Government in Oyo State has commissioned a state-of-the-art legislative building, christened in honour of Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in a grand ceremony that has been hailed as a major milestone in grassroots governance and infrastructure renewal.

The imposing facility was formally commissioned by the Oyo State former Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, drawing an impressive crowd of dignitaries, political heavyweights, and jubilant residents from across the local government and beyond.

The event witnessed the presence of serving members of the Oyo State House of Assembly and National Assembly, chairmen of other local government areas in the state, heads of departments and agencies, board members, respected traditional rulers, party stalwarts, community leaders, and a large turnout of everyday citizens.

Officials described the commissioning as the pioneering major project unveiling by the Lagelu Local Government in the year 2026, signalling the administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering tangible, people-centred development.

In his keynote address, which was met with sustained applause, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, showered effusive praise on Governor Seyi Makinde for his revolutionary policies that have unleashed unprecedented resources, and enabling environment for local governments to thrive far beyond expectations.

“This ultra-modern legislative complex stands tall as the flagship legacy project of our administration,” Hon. Kamorudeen declared. “It is a monumental edifice that will endure for generations, providing a conducive platform for effective legislation, robust oversight, vibrant representation, and sustained service to the good people of Lagelu.”

The chairman credited the achievement squarely to Governor Makinde’s Omituntun governance model, which he said has transformed local administration across Oyo State by prioritising true autonomy, fiscal responsibility, security, infrastructure, and inclusive growth.

He highlighted how the governor’s visionary leadership has repositioned Lagelu as a model of progress, with visible impacts in road rehabilitation, market upgrades, enhanced security, improved connectivity, and now this iconic legislative facility that symbolises institutional strength at the grassroots.

Dignitaries at the colourful event described the project as yet another resounding validation of Governor Makinde’s transformative local government administration model, commending Hon. Kamorudeen for his focused, visionary, and result-oriented stewardship that continues to elevate Lagelu as a beacon of development in Oyo State.

The commissioning aligns with the broader thrust of the Makinde administration to fortify local institutions, promote sustainable development, and ensure efficient service delivery.
