The Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan is set to host a thrilling FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria’s Falconets and Senegal on February 7, 2026. The winner of this crucial tie will advance to the final round of African qualifiers, facing either Guinea-Bissau or Malawi for a spot in the Poland 2026 World Cup.

The Falconets, two-time World Cup silver medallists, will look to secure a strong result at home and make the nation proud. With four African teams vying for a spot in the Poland 2026 World Cup, the stakes are high for this encounter.

The match is scheduled to kick off at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, with the return leg set for February 14 in Dakar, Senegal.

The Lekan Salami Stadium is definitely living up to its promise. With the Falconets taking on Senegal in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier, Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for the stadium as a sports hub is taking shape, especially after that win against Rwanda’s U-20 team. The Oyo State Government had promised more sporting events at the venue, and this high-stakes match is a big step in that direction.
