Hon. Wale Canada, Oyo Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Celebrates 8-Day Naming Ceremony of Newborn Baby

The 8-day naming ceremony of the newborn baby of the lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi (Wale Canada), was held amid prayers, goodwill messages, and the presence of eminent personalities across Oyo State.

The joyful ceremony brought together family members, political leaders, traditional elders, clerics, and well-wishers to celebrate the birth of the child born to Hon. Wale Canada and his wife, Alhaja Wasilat Adegoke, the Oyo State Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

The newborn was formally named by the spiritual father of the day, Sheikh AbdulSalam Imam Useni Akanji, who offered special prayers for the child, the parents, and the entire family. The baby was given the names Muhammad Saminu, Atanda, Oluwaseyi, and Olasinle, symbolizing faith, heritage, and divine purpose.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, who led a delegation of lawmakers and colleagues from the Assembly.

Also present were Alhaji Siju Lawal, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State; Hon. Ayo Olowosoke (Olopoenie), Chairman of Anfe; and other notable political associates.

Eminent elders and leaders who graced the occasion included Mr. Kayode Joseph (Sirkay) from Atisbo, Alhaji Tajudeen Badmus, former Vice Chairman of Saki-East Local Government; Alhaji Lateef Yusuf, former SSA to the former Deputy Governor; Alhaji Chief Engineer Raji (Oyo); Alhaji Bashir Tayo Lawal, immediate leader of the Sepeteri Improvement Union (SIU); Chief Tanwa; and several other respected community leaders.

The ceremony also attracted a large turnout of well-wishers from Saki-East, Atisbo, Oyo, Ibadan, and neighboring communities, reflecting the wide acceptance, respect, and goodwill enjoyed by the couple.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Wale Canada and Alhaja Wasilat Adegoke expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty for a safe delivery and thanked all guests who honored the ceremony with their presence.

They particularly appreciated the Speaker of the House, lawmakers, political associates, traditional leaders, clerics, and well-wishers for their prayers, support, and goodwill.

The parents noted that the overwhelming show of love and solidarity would remain deeply cherished and prayed that Almighty Allah would reward everyone abundantly.

Special prayers were offered for the newborn to grow in wisdom, sound health, and divine guidance, as guests continued to shower the family with goodwill messages and blessings.
