I write to address the false narratives circulating about Hon. Lateef’s involvement in the recently concluded FIBSA election. As a man of the people, Hon. Lateef is committed to promoting the progress and unity of the youth.

His track record of support for students and indigenous presidents across Ibarapa North is well-documented.
He has consistently demonstrated kindness, generosity, and a willingness to listen to the needs of the students, advising them to maintain unity and peace.

Regarding FIBSA, Hon. Lateef played a mediating role, settling disputes between Com. Yomi Adeola and Roqeeb Adeegbe, immediate past FIBSA presidents, and encouraging them to maintain unity among themselves. When Oyalowon Sulaimon and Abass Olaniyan expressed interest in the FIBSA presidency, Hon. Lateef sent them to a seminar to foster dialogue and unity.

However, they failed to discuss the matter, prompting Hon. Lateef to invite them for a meeting to discuss their candidacies. He urged them to present a single candidate, but they failed to do so.
Due to his love for the youth and commitment to peace, Hon. Lateef promised to empower whichever of the two contestants made a sacrifice to step aside, but both failed to do so, leading him to leave them to their decision.
It is false to suggest that Hon. Lateef showed bias or interference in the election process. In fact, he remained neutral, focusing on promoting unity among the contestants.

The FIBSA election chairman’s office did not receive a letter regarding the election held at Eruwa on Saturday.
An investigation revealed that the Ibarapa East Local Government chairman also did not receive a letter about the election. Hon. Lateef noted that he had received a letter regarding an election at Ayete, which is why he provided security for that event.
I urge everyone to stop spreading misinformation. Hon. Lateef’s commitment to the progress and unity of the youth remains unwavering.
