Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, has paid a surprise visit to the parents of One-Day House of Representatives member, Hon. Suliat Haruna on the occasion of her 16th birthday.

On Monday, December 29, 2025, the lawmaker and his entourage visited the Idere-residence of Mr. Jimoh Haruna, father of the One-Day Rep to celebrate Suliat Adeola Haruna.
In July this year, SS3 student Miss Haruna emerged as the One-Day House of Representatives member in an intellectual competition organised by Hon. Adepoju. As part of the benefits of the initiative, Miss Haruna was celebrated on the floor of the House of Representatives and presided over Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency for a day.

Celebrating the young, talented girl who was out of town during the visit, Hon. Adepoju disclosed he deliberately refused to inform the parents about his visit. He said the gesture is aimed at celebrating the young girl and demonstrating that the government is closely monitoring her growth. He prayed for the continued success of the young girl and promised to always make it up to her, just like others.

In his words of appreciation, Mr. Jimoh Haruna, who was obviously short of words over the visit of the federal lawmaker, expressed the gratitude of the family to Hon. Adepoju for demonstrating leadership at the highest and unprecedented level. Mr. Haruna said that the gesture of the lawmaker will remain evergreen in the heart of his family and that of Miss Suliat. He described how his former classmates in the country and outside the country have been rushing to congratulate him ever since his daughter made a visit to the National Assembly of Nigeria to preside over Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.

According to him, the lawmaker has done what no one has ever done in the history of the Nigerian parliament, a statement he backed with the speech made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu when Miss Haruna visited the National Assembly in November this year, that other lawmakers in the country should emulate the leadership style of Hon. Adepoju by copying the initiative so that their constituents might be celebrated nationally just like Miss Suliat.
He also seised the moment to urge the entourage of Hon. Adepoju and other constituents in attendance to ensure that Hon. Adepoju is elected for a second term so that the constituency continues to enjoy the level of respect it is enjoying among other 359 constituencies in the federation.
