Adeniran Tunde Sikiru, Debunks Alleges Appointment into PDP Oyo Caretaker Committee, Reaffirms Loyalty to Gov. Makinde

The Secretary of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Adeniran Tunde Sikiru, has dismissed as false and misleading reports alleging his appointment as a member of the newly announced Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo State Caretaker Committee.

Hon. Adeniran’s reaction followed the circulation of a list on social media and search platforms claiming that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP had constituted a caretaker committee for Oyo State, with his name listed among the members.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the Oluyole Council Secretary clarified that he has not been appointed into any caretaker committee and has not received any official communication or letter from the PDP National Secretariat to that effect.

“I wish to clearly and unequivocally state that I am not a member of the PDP Oyo State Caretaker Committee. The publication currently in circulation did not emanate from any official channel known to me, and I have not accepted any such appointment,” Adeniran said.

While debunking the report, Hon. Adeniran reaffirmed his total loyalty and commitment to the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and the undisputed leader of the PDP in the state.

“My allegiance remains firmly with the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose inclusive, visionary and stabilising leadership has strengthened the PDP in Oyo State. I remain committed to the unity, progress and success of our great party under his leadership,” he added.

The Oluyole council scribe further emphasized his dedication to the Oyo State PDP structure and the ongoing developmental strides of the Makinde-led administration, noting that his present focus remains on delivering effective grassroots governance and supporting party cohesion at the local government level.

Hon. Adeniran urged party members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard the unverified publication and to always rely on official party statements and recognised communication channels to avoid confusion and misinformation.

He concluded by calling for calm within the party, stressing that unity and discipline remain essential as the PDP continues to consolidate its position as the ruling party in Oyo State.
