..As association praises Governor Makinde’s support while urging for updated project cost standards in the face of rising inflation.

The Association of Pace Setters’ Contractors (APSC) celebrated a major milestone today as members, partners, and community leaders gathered to commemorate the organization’s 5th anniversary. The event, held in grand style, featured two landmark achievements: the raising of ₦500 million for developmental projects and the official ground-breaking ceremony for the association’s long-awaited permanent meeting place.
The celebration drew contractors, industry experts, investors, and public officials, highlighting the association’s steady growth since its establishment. What began as a small coalition of dedicated contractors committed to excellence and ethical practice has now grown into a respected industry body with influence across multiple sectors and representation from all 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State.

Speaking during the anniversary ceremony, APSC President, Mr. Oloyede, described the day as “a historic turning point. As we celebrate not only five years of unity, resilience, and progress but also our collective commitment to building a future that will outlive us. This ₦500 million fund is not just money—it represents trust, collaboration, and belief in our shared vision. And with the groundbreaking of our meeting place, we are building a home for future generations of Pace Setters.”

The newly launched Pace Setters Meeting Complex, to be located at the City Centre, will serve as the association’s administrative headquarters, training center, and collaboration hub. The planned structure will include a multi-purpose hall, conference rooms, a resource library, and a training workshop for young contractors and artisans.
During the ground-breaking ceremony, the chairman of the building committee, Mr. Olusegun Oguntade, expressed gratitude to all supporters and emphasized that the project symbolizes stability and long-term vision. “This center will stand as a testament to what can be achieved when people with a common purpose work together. It will also become a rallying point for professional development and innovation within our industry.”
Government representatives praised the association’s positive impact on local employment and infrastructure development, pledging continued collaboration to promote professionalism in the construction sector.

The anniversary celebration also featured awards recognizing outstanding members and dignitaries, and performances celebrating the cultural richness of the region.
The Association of Pace Setters’ Contractors also used this medium to express their appreciation to the Government of His Excellency, Eng. Seyi Makinde, and at the same time, expressed their plight to the government while pleading and humbly praying to our merciful Governor to please look into the review of current minimum job execution to meet up with the present inflationary trend in the market.
As the Association of Pace Setters’ Contractors steps into its next phase, members reaffirmed their dedication to raising industry standards, mentoring the next generation of builders, and contributing to Oyo’s infrastructural transformation.
