‎Chairman House Committee on Youth and Sports and Deputy Chief Whip, Honourable Yusuf Adebisi, lawmaker representing Ibadan Southwest Constituency 1 from the Oyo State House of Assembly is among other legislators embarked on a high-level legislative seminar in Washington, D.C., United States, aimed at strengthening their understanding of global best practices in lawmaking, oversight, and citizen engagement.

‎

In a press statement signed by his spokesperson, Tope Eluyefa, ‎the seminar, organised in collaboration with reputable U.S. policy and governance institutions, brings together selected legislators from Oyo State to participate in intensive training sessions on modern legislative processes, effective committee systems, public policy design, and strategies for deepening democratic governance at the sub-national level.

‎

‎According to sources within the Assembly, the study tour is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the capacity of lawmakers to deliver more impactful legislation and promote transparent, people-centred governance. The programme also offers opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and engagement with legislative experts, governance think-tanks, and congressional aides in Washington, D.C.

‎

‎Speaking ahead of the trip, the lawmaker,  Adebisi Yusuf expressed optimism that the experience would broaden their perspectives and translate into improved legislative output back home. They emphasised that the training is crucial as Oyo State continues to push forward policies that support economic growth, youth development, and infrastructural advancement.
