Honourable Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North Constituency II, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his continued commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development in the state.

Gabriel, made this known on Monday at the special plenary of budget presentation while speaking on behalf of the Ibadan main City, describing Makinde as a People’s Governor whose leadership style has consistently prioritized transparency, accountability, and the welfare of citizens.
He particularly praised the governor’s 2026 Budget of Economic Expansion, noting that it reflects a clear means of converting stability into opportunity by improving livelihoods across Oyo State

According to Jagaban, the proposed budget demonstrates the administration’s dedication to strengthening critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, and agriculture areas he believes are essential for long-term prosperity.


He added that the document shows foresight in boosting internally generated revenue while ensuring that development projects reach both urban and rural communities without increasing taxes.
The lawmaker lauded the Governor for the U.I-Agbowo junction improvement, the ongoing rehabilitation of roads in Ibadan North constituency 2. He further used the medium to seek the Governor’s approval for the UI junction—Agbowo express road, as well as the Ijokodo-Agbaje road.
Gabriel also highlighted the governor’s emphasis on youth empowerment and job creation, describing these components as vital pillars for building a more resilient economy.

Hon. Babajide, however, urged the Governor to rehabilitate moribund youth centers in Ajoda, Egbeda local government areas of Oyo State to further promote youth inclusivity in all sectors of empowerment.
> “Governor Makinde has once again shown that he listens to the yearnings of the people. The 2026 budget is not just a financial plan; it is a reflection of his commitment to economic expansion, human capital development, and the overall progress of Oyo State,” he said.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his support for the Makinde-led administration and urged residents to continue cooperating with the government to ensure effective implementation of its policies and programmes.
The 2026 Budget of Economic Expansion is expected to undergo legislative scrutiny in the weeks ahead, with stakeholders expressing optimism that its execution will further consolidate Oyo State’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing sub-national economies.
