The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on Tuesday commissioned the newly installed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Plant at its new Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, marking a significant step in advancing the Federal Government’s clean energy transition.

The commissioning ceremony was led by the Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) Ismail Ahmed, who was received by the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, FIRS; the Coordinating Director, Support Services Group (SSG); and other top management staff of the Service.
The adoption of CNG aligns directly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to reducing energy costs, promoting environmental sustainability, and accelerating nationwide CNG adoption as part of the broader energy transition strategy.

The FIRS remains committed to innovation and operational excellence in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
