Indigenes of Olowode Village in Lagelu Local Government Area on Thursday erupted in jubilation as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagelu Chairman, Chief. Femi Falowo, officially commissioned a modern motorized borehole water project, ending decades of acute water scarcity that had plagued the agrarian community.
The project, fully executed and delivered under the leadership of Lagelu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru, represents a direct fulfillment of campaign promises made during the 2024 local government elections. Speaking at the commissioning event attended by party stalwarts, traditional rulers, and hundreds of excited villagers, Chairman Kamorudeen described the initiative as “a covenant kept with the people of Olowode.”
“For too long, our mothers and children have trekked kilometers to fetch contaminated water from streams,” Kamorudeen declared. “Today, we deliver not just water, but dignity, health, and hope. This is grassroots governance in action.”
The Lagelu PDP Chairman Femi Falowo, who personally commissioned the facility by turning on the tap to cheers from the crowd, praised Kamorudeen’s “exemplary leadership” and urged the people to continue their support for his administration.
“This is what PDP stands for – people-centered development,” Falowo stated. “While others make promises, Chairman Kamorudeen delivers results. This borehole is more than infrastructure; it’s a testament to our commitment to rural transformation.”
The water project features an electric-powered pumping system, overhead tanks, and multiple distribution points strategically located for villagers.
