Reviving the PDP: A Call for Unity and Progress at the National Convention

The national convention of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is just around the corner and I extend my warmest greetings to all stakeholders and delegates from the 36 states and the FCT. As we gather together in the city of Ibadan, known for its rich culture and history, I am filled with hope and optimism for the future of our party and our beloved nation.

This convention is a crucial opportunity for us to put our party back on the right track ahead of the 2027 election. It is a time for reflection and reorganization, and to realign ourselves with the values and principles that the PDP was founded upon.

As we embark on this important journey, let us remember that our ultimate goal is to build a PDP that can fix Nigeria and make her a country of our dreams. The PDP has a long and illustrious history, serving as a beacon of hope and progress for Nigerians since its inception. We have achieved great milestones and made significant contributions to the development of our nation. However, it is no secret that in recent years, our party has faced its share of challenges and setbacks. This national convention is our chance to address these issues and emerge stronger and more united.

As we look towards the future, let us not forget the lessons of the past. The PDP is a party built on inclusivity, diversity, and unity. We must embrace these values and work together towards a common goal – the betterment of our nation. Let us put aside personal interests and focus on the collective good. Only then can we truly make a positive impact and create real change for the benefit of all Nigerians.

I am confident that with the dedication and commitment of our stakeholders and delegates, we can achieve great things at this convention. Let us engage in constructive dialogue and open-minded discussions, keeping in mind the greater good of our party and our country.

We must also ensure that the voices of every member are heard and respected, as this is the foundation of a strong and resilient party. I am also pleased to welcome everyone to the city of Ibadan, the home of Balogun Ibikunle and Basorun Ogunmola. Let us take inspiration from the history and legacy of this great city and use it to guide us towards a brighter future.

I wish all stakeholders and delegates a successful national convention. May this be a turning point for the PDP and a stepping stone towards a better Nigeria. Let us work together to build a PDP that can fix our country and make the dreams of every Nigerian a reality.
