‎
‎It was a carnival like-atmosphere on Sunday as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 5, Lagelu Local Government Area held its first ward meeting following the recently concluded ward congress of the party.
‎
‎The meeting, which drew a large crowd of enthusiastic party faithful, clearly demonstrated that the people of Ward 5 and the entire Lagelu Local Government remain solidly behind the party.
‎
‎During the event, the newly elected ward executive members were formally introduced to party members by the local party pioneer chairman and party Chieftain Elder Kehinde Fabunmi (Baba Kenfab).
‎
‎In his address, Baba Kenfab commended the leadership of the party at the state level, particularly praising Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for his outstanding performance in governance and for ensuring the successful conduct of the last congresses from the ward to the state level without any rancour.
‎
‎He also lauded Hon. Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel (AKT), the Honourable representing Lagelu State Constituency, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the welfare of his constituents. According to him, “Hon. AKT has continued to meet the needs of the people even before being called upon”, he said.  He further appreciated the lawmaker for constructing the Amotekun House at Gbena area, Monatan a project located close to the venue of the ward meeting.
‎
‎In his remarks, Hon. AKT expressed his deep appreciation to Governor Makinde and all PDP members for their continued support, noting that their encouragement has been instrumental to his achievements in office. He promised to always make himself available for ward meetings and other party activities whenever called upon.
‎
‎Hon. AKT also commended Hon. Tiamy, the SSA to the Governor on Education Intervention and Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem, former council Chairman for their immense contributions to the development of the ward. During the meeting, Hon. Tiamy who’s outside the country joined the gathering via a video call to greet and address party faithfuls, adding excitement to the occasion with the cash donation he contributed.
‎
‎The lawmaker, Hon. AKT further announced a structural change within the ward political zones, revealing that Ward 5 previously divided into three zones (Iyana Church, Monatan, and Academy)  has now been expanded to four -where Kute was included. To support the zones and members, Hon. AKT made cash donations and 5 bags of rice to each of the four zones and one for the leaders.
‎
‎Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, the Ward Chairman, Hon. Kamorudeen (popularly known as Alaga Marun), commended Hon. AKT and other leaders for their support and pledged that his team would work diligently to deliver Ward 5 for the PDP in the next general elections.
‎
‎Among dignitaries present at the event were Elder Kehinde Fabunmi (Baba Kenfab), Baba K.K, Hon. Idogbe Aduragbemi (Leader of the house),  ward 8 party chairman, and numerous party members and supporters.
‎
‎The meeting ended on a joyous note, filled with unity, commitment, and optimism for the continued success of the PDP in Lagelu Local Government and Oyo State as a whole.
