Lagelu, Oyo State

In a bold and vibrant celebration of culture and leadership, the Lagelu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen inaugurated the LG Council of Traditional Queens in a dazzling ceremony that captivated Lagelu communities. This monumental move, hailed as a game-changer, officially elevates the revered queens to their rightful place as dynamic voices in local governance, setting a shining example of progress rooted in heritage.

The event, attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and residents, was a celebration of tradition, unity, and progress. The newly formed Council of Traditional Queens is set to formalize the roles of these revered women, granting them official recognition and a platform to amplify their influence in community development and governance.

In her heartfelt address, Mrs. Taiwo Abibat Mudashiru, the Chairperson of Lagelu, expressed profound gratitude to the queens for their unwavering dedication to the traditional institution. “Your remarkable service has been a pillar of strength in our communities,” she said. “This council is a testament to your enduring legacy and a step toward ensuring your voices are heard in shaping the future of Lagelu.”

Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, in his remarks, underscored his administration’s commitment to strengthening the traditional institution since its inception. He described the inauguration of the Council of Traditional Queens as “another bold step” toward honoring the cultural heritage of Lagelu while fostering inclusivity. “Our administration recognizes the pivotal role of our queens in promoting peace, unity, and development,” he stated. “This council is not just an honor but a platform to empower you to contribute even more significantly to our shared vision.”
