The Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Abiodun Fadeyi, and his wife, Alhaja Aminat Oladepo Fadeyi, have been conferred with the prestigious Islamic titles of Asiwaju Adinni* and Yeye Asiwaju Adinni of Ona-Ara Local Government by the Council of Imams and Alfas in the local government area.

The grand turbaning ceremony took place on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at Elekuro High School, Amuloko Road, Ibadan.
The event also featured the formal launch of a N100 million for the completion of a multipurpose Islamic Centre and an ultra-modern central mosque for the Ona-Ara Muslim community.

The Chief Imam of Ona-Ara Local Government, Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Tirimisiyu Ahmoda Rufahi, led the turbaning rites.


He praised Hon. Fadeyi and his wife for their unwavering support to Islam, community development, and humanitarian causes, and described the titles as a recognition of the couple’s consistent dedication to faith and service.
The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara LG, Hon. Kolapo Temitope Glorious who was the Chief Host at the turbaning ceremony congratuled the Deputy Speaker and his wife, and urged others to emulate them in promoting both spiritual and societal advancement.
In his response, Hon. Fadeyi expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of Islam and the development of Ona-Ara and Oyo State at large.

He called for continued unity and support among Muslims and the entire residents of Ona Ara Local Government.
The ceremony drew dignitaries from the political, religious, and traditional spheres and was marked by celebration, prayers, and community solidarity.
