LAGELU, IBADAN|

The Halima Bawa Foundation has called on girls across Nigeria to prioritise their menstrual health to foster confidence and resilience as they prepare for adulthood. The appeal was made during an initiative marking International Day of the Girl Child, with the foundation hosting an educational session for students in selected schools within Lagelu Local Government Area on Friday. The outreach included the distribution of essential menstrual hygiene products, such as sanitary pads, shaving sticks, toothpastes, and soaps, to the beneficiaries.
The awareness campaign targeted menstrual hygiene education and engaged pupils from Community Secondary School, Alegongo, and N.O. Idowu Comprehensive High School, Olorunda-Aba. Ambassador Halima Bawa, the foundation’s CEO, led the sessions, offering practical guidance on menstrual health management and addressing questions from the students.

Mr. Olutunde Benedict, the Lagelu Local Government supervisor for medical matters, represented the local authority at the event. He praised the initiative, highlighting the significance of supporting the health and well-being of young girls and commending the foundation for its impactful efforts in observing International Day of the Girl Child.
