The Ogun State House of Assembly was met with a major leadership reshuffle during its recent plenary session.

Hon. Lukmon Atobatele, who represents Abeokuta South 1 state constituency, lost his Deputy Minority Leader seat to Hon. Kola Dickson of Remo North state constituency. This change comes under the capable leadership of Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide. This reshuffle was brought about after Atobatele’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the Assembly officially wrote a letter to the house leadership, informing them of Atobatele’s defection. As per the rules of the house, this defection meant that Atobatele could no longer hold his position as Deputy Minority Leader.

During the plenary session, the Speaker of the house, Hon. Elemide, read out the letter and announced the appointment of Hon. Dickson as the new Deputy Minority Leader.

The new Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Dickson, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. With his years of service in the house and his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, it is no surprise that he has been chosen for this role. His new position will give him a greater platform to voice the concerns of the minority and work towards the betterment of the people of Ogun State.
This reshuffle is a reflection of the house’s dedication to upholding the rules and regulations that govern its operations. This change in leadership also brings about a new dynamic to the house. Hon. Dickson’s vision and leadership style will surely have an impact on the proceedings of the Assembly. With his passion for good governance and his determination to serve the people, we can expect to see positive changes in the house under his leadership.
This reshuffle also serves as a reminder that in the world of politics, allegiances can shift and unexpected changes can happen. It is important for leaders to remain loyal to their constituents and continue to work towards the betterment of their communities.
