The former two terms Lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adegboyega Mathew Abioye (Elder) has felicitated with His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on the occasion of his 81st Birthday anniversary today.
Hon. Abioye in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan, equally extended his heartfelt congratulations to the monarch on his historic ascension to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland tomorrow 26th September, 2025.
The erstwhile lawmaker who represented the Ogo Oluwa/Surulere state constituency between 2007 to 2015, described the ascension of Oba Ladoja to the throne as divine fulfillment for the people of Ibadan, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Hon. Abioye stressed further that at 81, Oba Ladoja has enjoyed a special grace from the Almighty God who has been a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a former Executive Governor of Oyo State, an elder statesman and now a paramount ruler of the most populous city in West Africa.
He further added that with Ladoja’s aforesaid rich background couple with custodian of culture, he is well prepared to lead Ibadanland into a new era of peace, unity, and prosperity.
According to him, the coronation is not only a blessing to Ibadanland but also a source of pride to the Yoruba nation, Nigeria, and indeed the African continent.
“Your reign, Kabiyesi, comes at a time when our nation needs leaders who embody wisdom, humility, and foresight. You have consistently demonstrated these virtues throughout your life which has become a shining example for others to emulate.
May your reign bring peace, prosperity, and unity not only to Ibadanland but also to Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole,” he declared.
“As you ascend the throne of your forefathers, I pray that Almighty God blesses you with long life, sound health, and the wisdom to rule your people with compassion. May Ibadan under your reign continue to flourish, and may it witness peace, progress, and enduring greatness.” Hon Abioye concluded.
