Makinde’s aide, Moses Alao, lauds Oorelope LG PDP leaders over Ward, LG Congresses

Special Assistant on Print Media to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, Hon Moses Adebayo Alao, has lauded the leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government over the just-concluded Ward and Local Government Congresses of the party.
Alao, in a statement made available to newsmen in Igboho on Saturday, shortly after the Oorelope Local Government PDP Congress held at the LA Primary School, Ebedi, Igboho, hailed the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
He commended the party leaders for proving themselves as true democrats by ensuring internal democracy, noting that the amicable handling of the congresses showed the leaders’ commitment to strengthening the PDP in Oorelope Local Government.
Hon Alao added that through the conduct of the congresses, the PDP leaders set a worthy example for the PDP in other local governments and even the opposition parties.
Hon Alao particularly commended the leaders for setting a template of fairness and equity in the distribution of party offices, noting that once the template is followed in future processes within the party, the PDP is assured of success in Oorelope Local Government.
This was as he congratulated the new Oorelope Local Government PDP chairman, Alhaji Safariyu Oyelowo and the other members of the executive as well as all new Ward Exco Members.
He said: “I commend all the leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Oorelope Local Government over the handling of the Ward and Local Government Congresses, which have produced new executives for the party at both levels.
“I salute their efforts in making the Oorelope PDP a strong and viable platform that has become attractive to everyone and I particularly commend the excellent handling of the party’s congresses.
“Through the peaceful and amicable handling of the congresses, Oorelope PDP Leaders have demonstrated themselves as true democrats, who believe in internal democracy.
“By organising Ward and Local Government Congresses that were devoid of crisis and rancour, Oorelope PDP stakeholders have demonstrated their commitment to the success of the PDP under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
“Through the fair and equitable distribution of party offices, the Oorelope PDP leaders have shown examples to the PDP in other local governments and the opposition parties on how democracy can be deepened.
“I am proud of our leaders and their excellent handling of the congresses and I am assured that with the way the party offices have been fairly distributed, the PDP is assured of success in future elections once the same principle of fairness is followed in future processes such as selection of candidates.
“I equally congratulate all new Local Government and Ward Excos of the PDP in Oorelope Local Government. It is my prayer that their tenure will bode well for our great party.”
The statement noted that leaders such as the former Oyo North Senatorial Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja; Special Assistant to the Governor on Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency, Alhaji Sarafadeen Yusuff Alani (Al Wajud), who was the Arrow Head of the stakeholders that decided the party’s excos; Rt Hon Lanre Agoro, who was represented by Alhaji Jimoh Sakibu; Mr Muritala Adeladan; Hon. Lukman Olawale Balogun; current Oyo North PDP Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Yinusa Yusuff and the Oorelope Local Government chairman, Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran, deserved to be commended for their insightful and well-guided handling of the congresses.
He added that other leaders such as the Oorelope PDP Chairman, Alhaji Azeez Adeoti; Revd. Adeboyin Adeola; Prince Noah Oyeleru Atoyebi; Mr Fatai Asipa and Hon. Michael Oni also deserved worthy mentions for doing such a good job.
