Ona Ara Chairman, GLORIOUS sensitizes citizens on continuous voter registration*

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has urged residents to participate actively in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise currently in progress.

Speaking through his Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, on the live radio programme Corridors of Power aired on Ilaji FM Thursday 4th August, 2025, Dr. GLORIOUS emphasized the civic importance of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as a vital gateway to democratic participation.

He explained that the registration exercise, which commenced on 25 August 2025, will run until 30 August 2026 a full year of opportunity for eligible residents to register, replace lost PVCs, or transfer their registration due to relocation.

Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS further appealed for calm and restraint, calling on political actors and the general public to view the exercise not as a political competition but as a civic duty.

“This exercise is meant for our youths who have just turned 18, those who have lost their PVCs, and residents who have changed their environments and require a transfer. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this chance to register or update their voter cards. Your PVC remains the only license to participate in governance,” he said.

The Continuous Voter Registration commenced online on 18 August 2025, enabling eligible citizens to initiate registration and schedule appointments ahead of the physical process. Physical registration began on 25 August 2025 at INEC State and Local Government offices nationwide, with Ona Ara LGA among the approved centres.
