The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has sent his deepest condolence message to the Adepoju Family. The Governor, who is on his annual leave outside the country, spoke with the family through a phone call on Monday to commiserate with Hon. Adebayo Adepoju and his family.

Governor Makinde remarked that the evidence of Pa Adepoju’s good life is reflected in all his children, emphasising that the death of Chief Adepoju is a loss not only to Oyo State but to Nigeria as a whole.
He also prayed for Mrs. Adepoju and her children, saying that Pa Adepoju may have left, but his impact remains.

In the same vein, the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke, has paid a condolence visit to the Adepoju Family over the demise of their patriarch, Chief (Dr.) Amos Ademola Adepoju, the Asiwaju of Igboora Land.

Governor Adeleke, Mrs Dupe Sanni (the governor’s sister) alongside the Secretary to the Osun State government, Chief of staff, Commisioners, special advisers and other prominent members of his cabinet, visited the Yidi-Gate Ibadan Residence of the elder statesman on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, to commiserate and share the moment of grief with the bereaved family.
Consoling Chief (Mrs.) Adepoju, the children and the Igboora Community at large, Gov. Adeleke declared that he had lost a father and the strongest support system he could ever ask for from God. He said that since the passing of the late Chief, he had assumed the role of the first child of the late Asiwaju of Igboora, expressing how greatly he would miss Chief Amos Adepoju’s constant wise counsel.
“It is an understatement to say that I have lost a father. Baba was highly conversant; most times, Baba was the one who usually called my attention to what I had not seen. Baba would be in the US and informed me about what was happening in Nigeria and how to tackle it with wisdom. Who am I without God and fathers like the late Chief Adepoju? It dawns on me now that Baba is no more, but we are going to give him an A class befitting burial for touching lives beyond anyone’s widest imagination,” he said.

Gov. Adeleke also appreciated God for the gifts of Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adepoju, his brother, Sir Kunle Adepoju, who is the Special Adviser on General Services to Gov. Adeleke and all the children of the late Octogenarian. He also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Asiwaju of Igboora; Chief (Dr) Amos Adepoju.
